Satish Kumar is Director, Projects at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), where he is responsible for the company’s growth and expansion projects. He is a seasoned leader in the metals and mining industry, with over 30 years of experience, including 18 years in overseas technical, management and executive leadership roles across India, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa.
Satish brings extensive multi-cultural, multi-locational and multi-commodity experience, with a proven track record in leading businesses and executing major capital growth projects from development through to operations.
Prior to KCM, he served as CEO of the Adani Group’s copper business in India and as Vice President – Projects at Vedanta Zinc International, South Africa. As Head of Vedanta’s projects in Southern Africa, he led the development of the Gamsberg Zinc Project, a world-class greenfield mining and metal complex and one of the largest investments in South Africa.
Satish holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Thrissur, Calicut University, India, and is an alumnus of the Executive General Management Program at Harvard Business School, USA.
