Malcolm Mewett is Acting Chief Executive Officer and Country Head of Konkola Copper Mines (KCM), a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources Holdings Limited. A seasoned mining executive, he brings over 40 years of global experience in business excellence, operational performance and environment, health, safety and security (EHSS) best practices.

At KCM, Malcolm is leading the transformation of the business into a leading copper producer in Zambia. He is spearheading a $1 billion investment programme, including over $700 million in underground development at the Konkola Mine, with a focus on ramping up copper production to 300,000 tonnes per annum and advancing the Konkola Deep Mining Project.

Previously, Malcolm was Vice President and General Manager at ICL Boulby Mine in the United Kingdom and held senior operational roles with Eldorado Gold and Esan. He is also committed to community development, education, youth empowerment and responsible mining practices that create lasting value for stakeholders.
