Prakash Gopakumar is the Chief Commercial Officer at Konkola Copper Mines, with over 25 years of experience in mining, metals, automation, projects, procurement, supply chain, logistics, and commercial leadership. He is recognized for driving business transformation, operational excellence, supplier partnerships, and sustainable value creation across large-scale industrial operations. An engineering graduate from the University of Madras with an MBA in Operations Management, Prakash combines strong technical expertise with strategic commercial leadership. 

Prior to joining KCM, Prakash held several senior leadership positions within Vedanta Resources⁠, including Chief Commercial Officer, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, and Deputy Chief Operating Officer – Logistics. Throughout his career, he has successfully driven large-scale procurement transformation, supply chain optimization, digitalization initiatives, and cost-efficiency programs across complex industrial operations in Africa and India.
